IF: Giant

I had a difficult time working out what I wanted to do this week. The word was a brilliant one but it meant I kept coming up with different ideas and couldn't decide what to stick with. I knew I wanted to practice something with perspective because I wasn't happy with how I did the plane in last weeks illustration. That's when I discovered a dvd about matte painting so decided to try that out and just add something gigantic in the background, eventually settled on a giant scorpion fighting a giant dinosaur. As you do.

IF: Satellite

Here is my picture for satellite. I thought I'd try something a little different this time and attempt a photoshop painting. I'm quite happy with how Kong turned out but not so sure about the plane in the foreground. I wanted to keep it sketchy and get energy into the picture but I think it might have been better if I was better at rendering things properly. Something to work on in the future.
Also I tried to make it look like Kong was swiping his arm but I'm not sure it comes across.

Ripple

This is my Illustration Friday Installment for Ripple. It's not very good. I've not spent much time on it because I want to concentrate on my writing this week instead. However I felt it was important to at least attempt something. So I drew a grumpy Gnome who is tried of fishing. I tried to do it in a watercolour type style.

Trail

For this weeks Illustration friday image I wasn't sure it was going to work as it's a very long illustration. I was hoping that the browser would show the whole thing and let you zoom in but it only lets you zoom in a little. Oh well, worth a try.
The word was trail so here is the story behind it, Hansel and Gretel are leaving a trail of breadcrumbs which are being eaten by Red Riding Hood. Red is leaving a scent trail which is being followed by the wolf. The wolf is leaving a paw print trail which is being followed by the woodcutter.
Update: I decided to cut up the picture and add it this way as well so people could see it better.
