IF: Spooky

So here is my installment for "Spooky". It's mean't to be an animated GIF but for some reason it won't work, I don't know if it's to long or something but it animates fine on my computer just not on here. Does anyone know why?

Here is a mini version that doesn't have the same timing I was hoping to get but it animates so you may get the right idea.

Not to sure about the womans face. I really like the skull though.

I decided I would post a still of the inbetween stages as on it's own it is quite spooky.

It would be great to get some feedback so please leave a comment.

IF: Transportation

This is my contribution to Illustration Friday's Transportation. I'm quite happy with it though I'm sure my rendering techniques could do with some work and I'm not so sure about the ground but as that's not the main focal point I'm ok.

What is it? I see it as some sort of great big futuristic, ocean liner-esque transporter to and from those cities in the background or after being docked at from the space station. The force field makes the ship streamlined.

Fish Monster

Decided to do a monster just for the fun of it. Tried to apply more of my new found muscle knowledge. I'm pretty happy with it :)

IF: Acrobat

I've not done an Illustration Friday for a while and it's good to be back. At first I was going to go stylised as I haven't done much anatomy stuff yet but one of my rough sketches involved proper muscle and it just seemed to work for me. A couple of weeks ago I dived into learning human anatomy and then I put it all aside and just left it. This is actually the first proper drawing I have done that uses what I learned so I am quite pleased with it. I didn't use any reference material either. In a few months I will probably notice a lot of things wrong with it. Please feel free to comment on things that don't look right to you. It all helps me improve. I know I need to work on my hands. Now I just have to work out if a gymnast counts as an acrobat as it kind of went that way when I was colouring it.

IF: Giant

I had a difficult time working out what I wanted to do this week. The word was a brilliant one but it meant I kept coming up with different ideas and couldn't decide what to stick with. I knew I wanted to practice something with perspective because I wasn't happy with how I did the plane in last weeks illustration. That's when I discovered a dvd about matte painting so decided to try that out and just add something gigantic in the background, eventually settled on a giant scorpion fighting a giant dinosaur. As you do.

IF: Satellite

Here is my picture for satellite. I thought I'd try something a little different this time and attempt a photoshop painting. I'm quite happy with how Kong turned out but not so sure about the plane in the foreground. I wanted to keep it sketchy and get energy into the picture but I think it might have been better if I was better at rendering things properly. Something to work on in the future.

Also I tried to make it look like Kong was swiping his arm but I'm not sure it comes across.

IF: paisley

This is my Illustration Friday submission for "paisley". I was thinking of ideas for what to do and when I looked at some paisley designs I thought to myself, "They look like amebas/bacteria things", so that is what I did.
